United Infrastructure in Swanley, United Kingdom, seeks a skilled Estimator to join our Social Infrastructure team. You will analyse drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates, price tenders with technical detail, and support handover to project delivery teams.

Essential experience includes 5+ years in construction (social housing preferred), knowledge of JCT/ACA contracts, and strong numerical skills.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the construction industry, preferably with Social Housing
• Ability to 'take off' from design drawings and prepare Bills of Quantities
• Knowledge of the JCT & ACA contracts
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in estimating software or aptitude to learn

Responsabilidades

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure tender returns are priced accurately, are commercially sound, and technically detailed
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and professionals to foster future tender opportunities
• Prepare and present detailed tender cost build-ups and meet tight tender deadlines
• Support the transition from tender to project handover with clear communication to delivery teams
• Monitor market trends, material costs and labour rates to keep pricing up to date
• Identify risks and opportunities within estimates and suggest mitigations to maximise value
• Contribute to the development of estimating processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy

Job Description

Our Social Infrastructure team are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team in Swanley, United Kingdom. As an integral part of our organisation, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs and preparing competitive bids for our clients in the Social housing sector. Previous experience in this sector is essential.

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Collaborate with various departmental functions to ensure tender returns are accurately priced, commercially sound, and technically detailed
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other professionals to foster future tender success and new client opportunities
• Prepare and present detailed tender cost build-ups, ensuring strict timescales are maintained throughout the tendering process
• Support the transition between the tender phase and project handover, ensuring smooth communication with project delivery teams
• Continuously monitor market trends, material costs, and labour rates to maintain up-to-date pricing information
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and maximise value
• Contribute to the development of estimating processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry, preferably with a background in Social Housing
• Knowledge of the JCT & ACA suite of contracts
• Ability to 'take off' from design drawings, interpret specifications, and prepare Bills of Quantities
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Proficiency in estimating software or aptitude to learn
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field are desirable
