Job summary

Headley Professional Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Estimator for a Manchester-based interior fit out contractor. You will prepare accurate quotations, cost plans and prelim books for multiple tenders, coordinating with project teams.

The role involves reviewing drawings, specs, client brief, and liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure compliant bids. Travel to meetings UK-wide is required.

Qualifications

• Must be hardworking, honest and reliable.
• Have good communication skills and work collaboratively.
• Understanding of tender enquiry documents including contract documents, drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations, estimates and costs plans for clients for Tender Settlement meetings with Senior Management.
• Prepare quotations from full tender information (drawings, specifications and supplementary information) based on client instruction.
• Ensure all documents are accurate, and compliant with all the Contract information and advise where we deviate away from the client's brief.
• Produce prelim books based on programme information provided from client or Operational team.
• Work on multiple tenders and quotations at any time.
• Liaise internally within the Company to create an accurate and well thought out bid prior to estimator's handover, considering advice on items e.g. logistics and value engineering.
• Liaise with Clients and ensure their requirements are adhered to.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers with regards to quotations, opportunities and feedback using the preferred system of the Company (e.g. Local Supply Chain).
• Manage and respond to queries involving quotations, estimates and costs plans.
• Negotiate final client submissions alongside Senior Management to convert the estimate into an order.

Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator to join a dynamic and growing business. The company are an interior fit out contractor in Manchester who work on commercial offices, student accommodation, hotels and private residential apartment projects. Projects include full interior fit out and furniture installations both locally in the north and nationwide. In this role, you will be working on a great range of projects from £50k to £2m in value. The suitable person can expect the opportunity to progress their career in the long-term.

Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager the Estimator will work on tender proposals and quotations for the company. Obtain compliant quotes from supply chain, produce internal prelim books and ensure we can hand over a fully compliant pack of information to our delivery team. Provide input into planning, provision and monitoring related to Estimating to the Senior Management teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Full driving licence
• Highly competent in the application of IT with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Location: Manchester Based, UK Nationwide Sites (travel to meetings will be required)
