Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan is seeking a Freelance Estimator or Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to lead pricing and tendering for commercial works in South Wales / South West. The role requires independence, strong commercial contracting knowledge and proven experience with schedules of rates.

The successful candidate will prepare detailed estimates, review drawings and tender documentation, price labour, materials and subcontract packages, and liaise with clients and suppliers to support ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator or combined Quantity Surveyor / Estimator.
• Strong background working within commercial contracting.
• Experience producing and working with Schedules of Rates – highly advantageous.
• Proven ability to independently price and tender commercial works.
• Experience preparing detailed estimates and competitive tenders for commercial works.

The Opportunity

O'Neill & Brennan are working in partnership with an established commercial contractor to source an experienced Freelance Estimator or Quantity Surveyor / Estimator.

This is an estimating-led position requiring someone who can quickly integrate into the business and independently manage the pricing and tendering of commercial works.

Candidates must have previous experience working within commercial contracting, with Schedule of Rates experience a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are interested in experienced freelance professionals who can demonstrate:

• Excellent commercial and numerical awareness.

• The ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running.

This is not a standalone Quantity Surveyor position. Candidates must have demonstrable estimating and tendering experience.
