Job summary

Contract Scotland is seeking an Estimator to Senior Estimator to join its West-based team on a permanent basis. You will prepare accurate tenders across varied construction projects, working with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure competitive pricing.

This role suits an experienced estimator looking to progress or a senior estimator seeking a fresh challenge within a progressive construction environment. A strong focus on cost planning and value engineering will be essential.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within the construction/building sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and costs.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience producing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.

Responsibilities

An established and growing construction business is looking to appoint an Estimator / Senior Estimator to join its team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator looking to take the next step in their career, or a Senior Estimator seeking a new challenge within a progressive construction environment.

The Role

Working as part of the commercial team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of construction projects. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure projects are accurately priced and commercially viable.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders from drawings, specifications and other project information
• Reviewing tender documentation and identifying risks, opportunities and value-engineering options
• Obtaining and assessing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
• Completing detailed take-offs and cost analysis

About You

We are open to candidates operating at Estimator through to Senior Estimator level, with the role and responsibilities tailored according to your experience.
