Job summary

Ardmac is seeking an Estimator to provide tender costs for construction projects from our Manchester office with a mix of remote and office-based work.

Five years' experience in estimation, preferably on fit-out projects or data centre/cleanroom work, will help you identify cost-saving opportunities and manage bids from inquiry to handover. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure accurate pricing and competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience as an estimator with exposure to fit out projects.
• Data centre or cleanroom project experience is desirable.
• Experience estimating ceilings/partitions/drywall packages.

Responsibilities

• Complete estimates for fit-out projects within controlled environment sites.
• Organise tender documents and amendments for parties involved.
• Ensure tendering processes are fully implemented.
• Answer queries from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Liaise with client/design team during tender and arrange meetings.

About the Estimator Role

We are seeking an Estimator to provide tender costs for construction projects ensuring competitive bids. The position is based in our Manchester office with a combination of remote and office based work.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Complete estimates for a range of fit out projects within controlled environment project sites
• Organise copy of tender documents and amendments for appropriate parties.
• Ensure tendering processes are fully implemented.
• Answering queries from subcontractors/suppliers.
• Liaise with Client/Design Team during tender process and arrange meeting if required.
• Identify scope for design alternatives and value engineering, discussing with appropriate bid team members.
• Attend Adjudication Meeting and present tender.
• Highlight any areas of concern / risk in cost proposal.
• Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid.
• Ensure supply chain is regularly refreshed in line with procurement / construction activities to meet the company’s needs.
• Develop client / specifier relationships to enhance opportunities to tender, negotiate and enhance tender margins.
• Complete Contract Sum Analysis/Schedule if necessary.
• Attend post tender negotiations with Client.
• Undertake project debrief, eliciting feedback from sites, to improve construction.
• Identification of project related risks.

What We’re Looking For

Five years' experience as an estimator with exposure to fit out projects; data centre or cleanroom project experience is desirable, but we can also consider experience in estimating ceilings / partitions / drywall packages.
