Job summary

Ardmac, a Manchester-based construction specialist, seeks an Architectural Technologist to produce design solutions, drawings, schedules and submittals within set timeframes using BIM software.

The role involves liaising with clients and project teams to ensure smooth handover to construction, with responsibilities spanning coordination with MEP services and managing design information throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architectural Technology or comparable qualification.
• Experience in a busy construction company.
• Proficiency with BIM software and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Client Design Team to clarify deliverables.
• Generate and manage output using BIM technologies.
• Prepare technical submittals and schedules.
• Follow Ardmac Design Procedures.
• Select products for fit-for-purpose applications.
• Detail drawings and interface with components and materials.
• Coordinate with MEP & Process services using Navisworks.
• Manage issue/receipt of drawing information.
• Raise/Respond to design stage RFIs and COVIs.

Ardmac are looking to recruit an Architectural technologist to be based in Manchester; the successful candidate will be responsible for the production of Ardmac design solutions including drawings, schedules, technical submittals & other documentation required in an agreed timeframe through the use of BIM software.

The successful candidate will liaise with the Client, Ardmac Construction Team and other stakeholders as required to ensure a smooth handover of the design package to the construction team and provide support as necessary to the project team during the construction and handover phase of relevant projects.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsible for:

• Liaise with Client Design Team to bring clarity to the scope of deliverables.
• Generate and Manage Document and Drawing output using BIM Technologies.
• Generate and manage technical submittals and schedules.
• Comply with Ardmac Design Procedures.
• Product selection for application (fit for purpose & technical).
• Product detailing & interfacing with other components and materials.
• Co-ordination with Mechanical, Electrical and Process services using Navisworks.
• Manage the issue/receipt of the Drawing design information.
• Raise/Respond to design stage RFIs and COVIs.

Ability and knowledge of

• BIM – Autodesk Revit, Navisworks & AutoCAD
• Building Regulations and Design Standards including BCAR
• Technical Detailing & Material Specification

Qualifications

• Degree in Architectural Technology or comparable qualification
• Previous experience working in a busy construction company
