MacStaff Limited is recruiting an Estimator – Construction for a Bournemouth/Poole based role. You will prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders for building construction, refurbishment and improvements, coordinating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors across the South of England.

The role requires experience interpreting drawings and tender documents, strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tenders to strict deadlines.

Formación

• Proven estimating experience within building construction, refurbishment or main contracting.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour and subcontractor costs.
• Experience interpreting drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Confidence preparing estimates, pricing schedules and competitive tender submissions.
• Experience obtaining, comparing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction project risks.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight submission deadlines.
• Competence using estimating software, spreadsheets and construction management systems.
• Experience with SimPRO would be advantageous.

• Manage multiple tender enquiries and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
• Prepare detailed pricing breakdowns and supporting tender documentation.
• Complete prequalification questionnaires (PQQs) where required.
• Support Assistant Estimators with enquiries and quotation information.
• Maintain organised estimating records and project information using relevant software.
• Coordinate successful tender handovers to Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers.

The Estimator role itself, where you will take responsibility for preparing accurate, competitive and commercially considered quotations and tenders for building construction, refurbishment and improvement projects.

Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and the wider construction team, you will play an important part in winning work and ensuring successful project handovers.

More specifically:
