Job summary

Contract Scotland, on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor, is recruiting an Estimator to join their Glasgow team. You will work on civil, rail and energy projects across Scotland, with occasional site travel.

The role requires at least 3 years in construction estimating, strong numerical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tenders from tendering through to post‑award handover. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the construction industry, ideally within estimating, procurement, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
• Previous experience in civil and renewable energy projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience)

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor specialising in civil, rail, and energy projects, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across Scotland, with occasional site travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering

• Identify and assess relevant tender opportunities.
• Analyse tender documentation and prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Produce detailed quotations and tender submissions.

Estimating & Documentation

• Collect and analyse project information to prepare Bills of Quantities.
• Maintain records of tender submissions and monitor outcomes.

Post-Award

• Support the smooth handover of awarded projects to delivery teams.
• Assist with document control and administrative tasks within the estimating function.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the construction industry, ideally within estimating, procurement, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
• Previous experience in civil and renewable energy projects is advantageous.
