Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator from shopfitting, joinery or interiors to deliver accurate cost estimates for projects across our client portfolio.

You will develop robust cost models, assess risks, obtain supplier quotations and support value engineering to maximise profitability while maintaining quality and design intent. This role requires strong analytical and Excel skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating within retail interiors, shopfitting, joinery, display manufacturing or similar project-led environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and associated cost drivers.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of joinery, acrylics, solid surfaces, glass and metalwork cost factors.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with estimating or ERP systems.

Are you an experienced Commercial Estimator from shopfitting, joinery or interiors marketplaces, looking for a fresh challenge?

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially viable cost estimates for projects ensuring the proposed solutions are both commercially sound and operationally achievable.

Responsibilities Overview

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates from client briefs, specifications, drawings and technical information.
• Develop robust cost models covering materials, labour, manufacturing, installation and subcontract services.
• Identify commercial risks, assumptions and exclusions within estimates.
• Support early-stage feasibility assessments and bid/no-bid decision-making.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Support value engineering initiatives to maximise profitability while maintaining quality and design intent.
• Maintain and develop estimating templates, pricing databases, labour models and cost libraries.
• Review completed projects to improve future estimating accuracy and commercial performance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes and methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to utilise digital tools, automation and emerging technologies to enhance estimating efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Previous estimating experience within retail interiors, shopfitting, joinery, display manufacturing, fit-out or a similar project-led manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and associated cost drivers.
• Experience estimating bespoke products and interior environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods including joinery, acrylics, solid surfaces, glass, metalwork and illuminated products.
• Strong commercial awareness and a sound understanding of project profitability.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using estimating or ERP systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders.
• You must currently reside in the United Kingdom and hold full right to work. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
