Job summary

Orion Electrotech Sales in Fareham (onsite) is seeking an ambitious Estimator to join the electronics manufacturing team. The role involves analysing customer requirements, reviewing technical documentation, and producing accurate cost estimates for complex electronic products and assemblies.

This is a hands-on position with close collaboration across engineering, purchasing and manufacturing. You will prepare detailed quotations, evaluate material and labour costs, and help drive commercially

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator, Costing Engineer, or similar role within electronics manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
• Excellent communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Review complex multi-level technical drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Produce accurate cost estimates for electronic assemblies and manufacturing projects.
• Support the quotation process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
• Calculate material, labour, tooling, and production costs.
• Liaise with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams to gather costing information.
• Maintain and update costing models, spreadsheets, and quotation tools.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure all estimates are delivered accurately and within required timescales.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret complex multi-level technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Produce accurate cost estimates for electronic assemblies and manufacturing projects
