Job summary

Gold Group is seeking an Estimator to support a growing water infrastructure workload in the South East. The role involves reviewing drawings and tender docs, performing quantity take-offs, and applying schedules of rates to deliver accurate estimates for projects valued between £100k and £500k.

The position is a 3-month contract, Inside IR35, with a day rate of £350-£400 and remote working. You will work with the commercial and delivery teams to support tender submissions.

Estimator - Water Infrastructure

3 Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £350-£400 per day | Paid via an Umbrella Company

I'm working with a main contractor and supporting them with their search for an Estimator to support a growing workstream of projects on a major water framework in the South East.

Working alongside the commercial and project delivery teams, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantifying works using established schedules of rates and supporting the pricing of projects valued between £100,000 and £500,000.

Key responsibilities:

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Undertake quantity take-offs and measure works accurately.
• Apply schedules of rates to quantify and price construction activities.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations where required.
• Identify scope gaps, pricing risks and areas requiring clarification.
• Liaise with project and commercial teams to support accurate estimates and tender submissions.

Requirements:

• Experience working as an Estimator within civil engineering, utilities or water infrastructure.
• Good understanding of quantity take-offs, construction costs and schedules of rates.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills.

Contract details:

• Day rate: £350-£400, dependent on experience.
• IR35 status: Inside IR35, paid via an umbrella company.
