Randstad CPE is seeking two experienced M&E Estimators for data centre projects based in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. This permanent role involves delivering accurate, competitive bids for mission-critical data centre developments across the UK and Europe.

Ideal candidates have proven M&E estimating experience in a main contractor or major sub-contractor, with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, power distribution, HVAC, and resilient design.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an M&E Estimator within a main contractor or major sub-contractor.
• Data Centre or high-tech critical environments experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power, HVAC and resilience design.
• Proficient with estimating software packages and advanced MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate M&E estimates, tenders, and cost plans for data centre projects.
• Analyse tender documents, specs, drawings and schedules of rates.
• Perform detailed material and labour take-offs.
• Issue supply chain inquiries and evaluate quotations for competitiveness and compliance.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, commercial and engineering teams on cost-saving initiatives.
• Present financial breakdowns and tenders to senior leadership.

About the Role

Are you an experienced M&E Estimator with a proven track record in the Data Centre or critical infrastructure sector?

Due to significant growth and a strong pipeline of high-tech projects, we are currently expanding our team in Gerrards Cross and seeking two ambitious M&E Estimators to join us on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering accurate, competitive, and highly technical bids for major data centre developments across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate Mechanical & Electrical estimates, tender submissions, and cost plans for mission-critical Data Centre projects.
• Analyze tender documents, specifications, electrical/mechanical drawings, and schedules of rates.
• Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.
• Issue supply chain inquiries, liaise with sub-contractors/vendors, and evaluate quotations for competitiveness and compliance.
• Work closely with pre-construction, commercial, and engineering teams to identify cost-saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
• Present financial breakdowns and tenders to senior leadership and key project stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Proven experience as an M&E Estimator (or M or E specialist) within a main contractor or major M&E sub-contractor.
• Sector Knowledge: Essential experience in Data Centres or high-tech critical environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, cleanrooms, major power infrastructure).
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of complex electrical/mechanical systems, power distribution, HVAC, cooling systems, and resilience designs.
• Software: Proficient with estimating software packages (e.g., Trimble/Ensign, Cypher, ConEst) and advanced MS Excel.
• Commute: Based within a realistic commuting distance of Gerrards Cross.
