Job summary

Dalkia UK in Bolton is seeking an experienced M&E Estimator to join our North West Engineering team. You will prepare cost estimates for mechanical and electrical building services and support competitive tender submissions.

The role requires strong commercial awareness, ability to interpret drawings and tender docs, and a collaborative approach across operational, commercial and pre-construction teams. On-site work in the North West region is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in an M&E estimating role within building services.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations, costs and procurement.
• Experience pricing complex projects within Tier 1 or established MEP contractor environments.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness; identify risks and opportunities.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Collaborative across multiple teams; proactive and accuracy-focused.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Monitor market conditions and pricing trends to ensure estimates remain competitive and commercially sound.
• Support the successful handover of awarded projects to delivery teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing major projects across sectors including healthcare, defence, commercial, critical infrastructure. Working alongside operational, commercial and pre-construction teams, you'll help develop competitive, robust and commercially sound tender submissions that support the continued success of our business.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in an M&E Estimating role within the building services industry.
• A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations, costs and procurement routes.
• Experience pricing complex projects within a Tier 1 contractor or established MEP contractor environment.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify both risk and opportunity.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
