Job summary

WasteRecruit is supporting an environmental engineering company in Kent seeking an Estimating Engineer to craft technically compliant proposals for wastewater, energy from waste and related markets.

You will interpret customer enquiries, develop engineered solutions with internal specialists, prepare accurate estimates from internal and supplier data, and present clear technical and commercial proposals.

The role is hybrid or home-based with some office attendance in Kent in the early days.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC-level qualification in a MEICA discipline, process engineering, chemical engineering or closely related field.
• Experience in estimating, proposals or technically focused commercial roles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and interpret customer enquiries, specifications and technical requirements.
• Develop appropriate engineered solutions with internal specialists.
• Prepare accurate project estimates using internal and supplier information.
• Produce clear, detailed technical and commercial proposals.
• Attend customer meetings, virtual or in-person.
• Respond to technical questions and requests for information.
• Provide technical sales support and progress opportunities to order.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering to ensure solutions meet requirements.
