Job summary

Siemens in Hindley Green is seeking an Estimating Engineer to support customer projects from enquiry to quotation and delivery. The role is hybrid, with typical 2-3 days in the office, and requires electrical background and a drive to develop in estimating and commercial engineering.

You will review drawings, prepare quotations, and produce bid documentation while collaborating with engineering, operations and sales teams to win opportunities.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification such as ONC, HNC, BTEC, Degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Understanding of a manufacturing, engineering or technical sales environment.
• A genuine interest in developing a career within estimating and commercial engineering.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing customer drawings, specifications and project requirements to develop technical solutions.
• Preparing accurate and competitive quotations within agreed timescales.
• Producing technical and commercial bid documentation to support customer submissions.
• Interpreting electrical schematics, drawings and technical information.
• Working closely with engineering, operations and sales teams to support project opportunities.
• Supporting the delivery of customer projects by ensuring quotation requirements are clearly communicated.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including engineering drawings and project information where required.
• Contributing to continuous improvement activities and helping to enhance the team's customer offering.
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and supporting the successful delivery of business objectives.
