In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll use your skills and creativity to keep our buildings and facilities running smoothly—making a real difference for patients and staff across our community health services. If you’re ready to apply your knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance in a role that offers both challenge and purpose, this could be the opportunity for you. You’ll work in a supportive and friendly environment, with access to training, great NHS benefits, and the chance to contribute to meaningful work every day.

This vacancy offers flexibility to be based at either Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital or Brighton General Hospital, giving you the choice of location that works best for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance tasks across a range of Trust buildings, with a focus on carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs.
  2. Respond to emergency breakdowns and ensure swift resolution to minimise disruption to services.
  3. Undertake minor installation and improvement projects to enhance the safety and quality of our facilities.
  4. Work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to prioritise tasks.
  5. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety and compliance regulations, including health & safety standards.
  6. Participate in an on-call rota and provide occasional out-of-hours support as required.

  • Beautiful Sussex location near the South Downs and coast
