Leaders in Care is seeking an Estates Manager to lead the property function across a growing North East care home portfolio. You will oversee maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance, and drive capital projects with autonomy.

Reporting into senior leadership, the role requires regular travel, field-based leadership across multiple locations, and strong contractor management to deliver high-quality, compliant facilities.

Qualifications

• Proven multi-site property or facilities management experience.
• Care home/healthcare or local authority background desirable.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and building regulations.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Budget management and financial awareness.
• Strong communicator with a collaborative approach.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

An established and growing care home group is seeking a highly capable Head of Property to oversee and drive the performance, compliance, and development of its estate across multiple locations.

With a portfolio of 6–10 care homes, this is a pivotal, hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in a multi‑site environment and understands the importance of safe, well‑maintained, and compliant facilities in delivering high‑quality care.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of all property‑related functions across the group. From planned maintenance and capital projects to compliance and contractor management, you’ll ensure every site operates efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory expectations.

This is a field‑based role requiring regular travel across the North East, offering autonomy and the chance to make a tangible impact across a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, safety, and compliance of all properties within the portfolio

About You

• Proven experience in multi‑site property or facilities management
• Background within care homes, healthcare, or local authority/council environments is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and building regulations
• Excellent project management and organisational skills
• Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets effectively
• Strong communicator with a collaborative, solutions‑focused approach
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
