Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Semi-Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson to support Estates Maintenance across the Trust’s estate. The role offers full-time and part-time options, with on-site duties and a requirement to participate in an on-call rota that may involve overtime.

Applicants should hold a recognised building trade qualification or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and have a passion for maintenance and engineering.

Qualifications

• Recognised building trade qualification or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Good understanding of Engineering and/or Building Maintenance.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Recognised building trade or modern NVQ Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic, unsupervised planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and emergency works in relation to building fabric, plant and equipment.
• Emergency lighting testing; replacing lamps and light fittings.
• Repair nurse call handsets; unblocking sinks; basic plumbing repairs; simple joinery and decoration.
• Participate in the on-call rota and the ability to work overtime.
