Job summary

Citizen Housing in Hereford is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative - Gardener to join our busy team. You will maintain estates using ride-on and other mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers and blowers, following a plan to deliver a high standard of care across all sites.

The role includes safe disposal of green waste, hedge and shrub pruning, weed control and litter picking, plus light maintenance of paved areas. A Full UK Driving Licence is required, and previous grounds experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Previous grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic DBS check applies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality grass cutting across estates and communal areas.
• Safely remove and dispose of green waste to keep sites clean and compliant.
• Prune shrubs and manage hedges to keep landscapes healthy and attractive.
• Use strimmers and powered tools to edge borders and hard-to-reach areas.
• Carry out weed control using approved methods and maintain landscape health.
• Maintain safety and tidiness of estates through litter picking and light maintenance.
