Job summary

Inspire Education Group (IEG) in Stamford is seeking an Estates Officer (Caretaker) to join the Estates team. You will help keep College buildings, grounds and facilities safe, clean and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.

This hands-on role involves security tasks, routine inspections, basic maintenance and assisting with events and porterage. The ideal candidate has practical maintenance experience, a can-do attitude, and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience is required or desirable.
• Knowledge of trades such as carpentry, plumbing or electrical work is beneficial.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently when needed.
• Full clean driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day security including opening/closing buildings.
• Respond to alarm activations and security incidents.
• Inspect and maintain buildings, fixtures and equipment.
• Carry out general maintenance across trades and grounds.
• Ensure grounds are safe and gritted during winter.
• Assist with waste, cleaning, and environmental standards.
• Move furniture and support porterage duties.
• Operate College vehicles when required.
• Collaborate with contractors and emergency services.
• Support College events and open evenings.
