Job summary

Cabot Learning Federation is seeking a Premises Manager for Monkton Wood Academy, Taunton. The role oversees estates operations, safety compliance and team supervision for a busy school campus.

The post is permanent, full-time (37 hours/week) with a provisional start in January 2027. A proactive approach to maintenance, supplier management and site hygiene will be essential in delivering a safe, well-presented environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate planned preventative maintenance programmes and statutory compliance activities.
• Support the line management, development and performance of Premises Assistants.
• Coordinate site opening and closing procedures and ensure staffing cover.
• Oversee general maintenance, repairs and minor improvements across the site.
• Manage contractor activities including induction and performance monitoring.
• Monitor hard and soft FM service providers to meet contractual standards.
• Manage the site premises budget by prioritising maintenance needs and obtaining quotes.
• Undertake regular site inspections and audits ensuring health and safety compliance.
