Job summary

Wotton-under-Edge Town Council is seeking an Estates Manager to lead the development and professional management of its estate, buildings, green spaces and public infrastructure. The role focuses on strategic leadership across sites, safety, compliance and ongoing maintenance.

You will oversee capital projects, refurbishment programmes and long-term asset planning while modernising systems and enhancing operational resilience.

Qualifications

• Senior level experience in estates, facilities or asset management across multiple sites.
• Strong understanding of planned and preventative maintenance, statutory compliance and building regulations.
• Experience leading teams, managing contractors and overseeing capital or refurbishment projects.
• Confident in budgeting, financial planning and value-for-money assessments.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to influence and build relationships.
• Sound judgement and problem-solving in high-pressure environments.
• Desirable NEBOSH qualification and heritage or listed buildings experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across land, buildings and public spaces.

• Ensure inspections, risk assessments and contractor activity meet high standards.
