Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group is seeking two Estates Assistants for the Folkestone site to assist with hands-on facilities management. You will act as a key holder, unlock/lock buildings and participate in the on-call rota to keep the campus safe and running smoothly.

You will set and unset intruder alarms, conduct regular fire alarm and emergency lighting checks, monitor core infrastructure, and support caretaking duties, minor repairs, deliveries, and portering while coordinating with external

Qualifications

• Friendly, flexible approach to tasks and shift patterns.
• Strong organisational skills to keep operations running smoothly.
• Experience with monitoring, testing and accurate record keeping of Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting systems.
• Working knowledge of Legionella in a real environment.
• Willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues and students.

Responsibilities

• Lock/unlock buildings as a key holder and support on-call rota.
• Set and unset intruder alarms; check fire alarms and emergency lighting.
• Regularly check core infrastructure and equipment.
• Support caretaking tasks, minor repairs, deliveries and portering on site.
