Job summary

Margaret Green Animal Rescue offers a Level 2 horticulture apprenticeship at our head office site in Church Knowle. The role covers grounds maintenance, fencing, basic carpentry, and site safety, with practical training and on-the-job mentoring.

You will complete off-the-job training with Coastland College and progress toward an end-point assessment, potentially securing a permanent position after completion. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–5:30, with one day weekly for college.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or higher.
• Interest in horticulture and grounds maintenance.
• Willingness to learn and follow health and safety practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Grounds, landscaping and fencing tasks as part of daily duties.
• Assist with painting, repairs and building fabric under supervision.
• Work towards Level 2 English and maths; attend training college.
• Follow COSHH and health & safety guidelines on site.
