Estates & Facilities Operations Manager

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our supportive team. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management across our five sites to ensure a safe, high-quality, and sustainable learning environment for our students and staff. You will balance long–term strategic planning with hands–on, day–to–day management of facilities operations across a dispersed geographical area.

What You Will Do
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and operational management to a multi-disciplinary team across five distinct campus locations.

  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance, responsive helpdesk repairs, soft FM services, grounds, fleet compliance, and transition to electric vehicles.

  • Lead campus space allocation and manage low-level estate enhancement projects that directly enable and support curriculum delivery.

  • Ensure full statutory building compliance across "The Big Six" (Legionella, Asbestos, Gas, Electrical, Fire, and LOLER) and manage CDM 2015 regulations.

  • Lead site security, CCTV governance (in line with UK GDPR), and act as the primary emergency and business continuity contact for out‑of‑hours events.

  • Drive sustainability initiatives to support Welsh Government Net Zero targets while managing estates budgets and lifecycle contracts.

Must-Haves
  • Level 5 Diploma in IWFM, Construction Management, Building Surveying, or Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience in a comprehensive facilities/estates management role, including team leadership, contract management, and budget oversight.

  • Deep technical knowledge of "The Big Six" statutory compliance areas and CDM 2015 regulations.

  • A commitment to safeguarding young people and adults at risk.
