Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an Estate Services Operative for a 3 months contract with a local authority in Surrey. The role covers bulk/general waste collection, void property clearance, litter management and environmental upkeep to maintain safe, clean communities while delivering excellent customer service.

Applicants should have a Full UK Driving Licence with Category C1 entitlement, be comfortable working onsite, and assist with additional environmental duties.

Qualifications

• Experience with bulk waste, general waste, litter clearance or void property clearance.
• Experience in estate services, environmental services, housing or facilities management.
• Ability to interact professionally with residents, contractors and external agencies.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements in waste collection.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to estates to collect bulk, general and non-domestic waste.
• Carry out void property clearance in line with operational requirements.
• Ensure collections are completed safely, efficiently and environmentally responsibly.
• Clean up spillages and maintain tidy working areas during and after collections.
• Maintain records of waste collections and completed works for recharge and reporting.
• Identify waste hotspot areas and support environmental improvement initiatives.
• Work with residents, manage expectations and provide basic advice as needed.
• Support team to deliver high-quality estate services.
• Assist with jet washing bin stores and communal areas.
• Report repairs and safety concerns to the appropriate teams and monitor progress.
