Job summary

Net Zero Careers is recruiting an Estate Services Caretaker to provide a comprehensive cleaning service across housing estates, following a programme of daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal tasks. You will work in public areas and have daily contact with residents, requiring a respectful, resident-focused approach and diplomacy.

This physically demanding role involves outdoor work in all weather, walking long distances, bending, lifting, and handling waste or odours.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning public areas and housing estates.
• A full driving licence.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Clean estate paths, roads, grass and shrub areas, lifts, lobbies, stairs, balconies, bin areas and refuse chute areas.
• Sweep, mop and remove litter and waste.
• Follow the cleaning programme and maintain standards for residents.
• Carry out seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting and snow clearance.
• Move bulky refuse safely and assist with collection points and depot sorting.
• Carry out specialist cleaning using machinery and chemicals (jet washing, deep cleaning, buffing).
• Safely use and store equipment and chemicals per COSHH requirements.
• Check lifts and play areas daily and report issues promptly.
• Provide cover across estates and support deep cleaning programmes.
