Job summary

Adecco are recruiting for Maintenance Technician roles within Northamptonshire Police Force. Location: Northampton. Permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week, 8am-4pm (3.30pm finish some days). Annual salary £25,242 - £26,703. Driving required. Duties include general and mechanical/electrical upkeep, safety compliance, and contractor coordination.

Role supports front-line emergency services with a focus on safe, compliant estate maintenance and responsive facilities management.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance or a multi trade role.
• Understanding of building safety and statutory compliance.
• Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
• Full UK driving licence, as travel between sites is required.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Physical fitness for frequent physical tasks.
• Proficiency in workflow software and technology-driven processes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance across the estate, including minor repairs to building fabric and fixtures.
• Undertake multi trade tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and tiling.
• Conduct regular building checks and remedial work for auditing purposes.
• Assist with minor electrical tasks and HVAC checks under guidance.
• Report defects promptly to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Provide day-to-day facilities services, including room setups and general housekeeping.
• Escort contractors and monitor their activities to ensure quality and safety standards.
