Job summary

The Kitchen & Estate Gardener role is based on a private estate in the UK and involves day-to-day maintenance and development of a productive walled garden, glasshouses, orchard and broader estate grounds. You will work under the Estate Owner and Garden Consultant to supply fruit and vegetables year-round, while supervising seasonal staff and coordinating with contractors where needed.

Candidates should have a strong horticultural background, hands-on experience in kitchen gardens, and a Level 2

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of producing fruit and vegetables in a walled garden and under glass, year-round.
• Broad experience in garden, glasshouse, turf, woodland and landscape maintenance.
• Ability to work quickly while delivering high-quality horticultural outcomes.
• PA1 and PA6a pesticides qualification is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the PO/GC/EM on Estate/Gardens/Kitchen Garden tasks.
• Maintain high horticultural standards to supply the PO year-round.
• Carry out seasonal duties across the site including productive gardens, glasshouses, tennis court and pond.
• Undertake productive kitchen walled garden tasks including sourcing, growing, harvesting and storing fruit and vegetables year round.
• Supervise part-time seasonal gardeners and contract workers as required.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
