Job summary

Cross Keys Homes is seeking a permanent Estate Ranger to join the Rangers team, covering estates across the organisation. The role blends handyman repairs, garden clearance and grounds maintenance with fire door inspections, emergency lighting, and health and safety checks, along with resident liaison and reporting tenancy breaches.

Qualifications

• GCSE level education or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience interacting with the public.
• Site surveys and inspections experience.
• Cleaning duties experience.
• Experience using a hand-held device.

Responsibilities

• Inspect estates and streets for disrepair and risks, reporting findings to departments and external stakeholders.
• Carry out handyman, caretaking, repair and pest control work across communal blocks, schemes and estates.
• Perform annual flat fire door inspections, test AOVs and emergency lighting, and check playground equipment weekly.
• Manage day-to-day fire risk on site and report non-compliance.
• Oversee external grounds maintenance contractors and ensure CKH standards.
• Conduct weekly repair visits to hostels and schemes as identified by scheme managers.
• Manage site security, including keys, fobs and access, liaising with contractors, residents and staff.
• Challenge health and safety non-compliance and report issues to the Police when needed.
• Assist with house clearances and basic facilities tasks as required.
• Check company vehicles weekly and oversee pre-apprentice rangers.
