Job summary

Places for People is seeking a grounds maintenance operative to carry out landscaping tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming hedges, and maintaining soft landscaping areas. You will plant trees, flowers and shrubs, clear snow from pedestrian areas, keep walkways and car parks clean, perform weekly equipment checks, litter picks, and address issues like dog fouling and sharps.

A PA1/PA6 spraying licence, a manual driving licence, and needle/sharp safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• PA1 and PA6 NPTC Spraying Licence required
• Needle and sharp safety awareness required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and IT literacy are essential

Responsibilities

• Mowing, edging, trimming hedges and maintaining soft landscaping areas
• Planting trees, flowers and shrubs; clearing snow from pedestrian areas; maintaining walkways and car parks
• Weekly checks on groundskeeping equipment; litter picks; address dog fouling and sharps
• Apply herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides when needed; occasional hard landscaping tasks
• Participate in estate improvement works; assist with compliance checks to keep the estate safe and clean
