The Gardener position is based at Cross Lane Hospital within the Estates and Facilities Management Directorate and is a permanent role. Qualifications

• NVQ / Diploma / RHS Level 2 or equivalent in Amenity Horticulture.
• Willing to undertake specific training relevant to the post.
• Numeracy and literacy to level 2.
• Experience of Grounds Maintenance.
• Certification for machine maintenance.
• Pesticide PA1 / PA6 or willingness to undertake.
• City and Guilds Level 2 chainsaw maintenance & cross cutting.
• Level 3 supervisory qualification if requested.

Responsabilités

• Preparing ground for seeding and planting activities.
• Sowing seeds and establishing a variety of plants.
• Assessing, maintaining and improving general amenity turf areas.
• Creating and maintaining decorative amenity areas, including mixed borders, formal bedding, containers and climbing plants.
• Carrying out edging, staking and pruning of ornamental flowering trees, shrubs and plants.
• Maintain grounds, footpaths, car parks, roadways and associated areas in a clean and orderly condition.
