Job summary

ESS Employment Ltd in Stroud, Gloucestershire is seeking a Plater in Surface Treatments to work on aerospace components for leading manufacturers.

You will be responsible for pre-treatment, masking, processing, recording times, and supporting continuous improvement; requires at least 3 years in surface treatment and a Chemistry-related qualification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years direct and relevant experience in surface treatment environment.
• Experience in an aerospace processing environment is desirable.
• GCSE or higher chemistry qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for surface treatment including masking, media blasting, and waxing.
• Process components following detailed process instructions and data sheets.
• Record processing times and outcomes from surface treatment operations.
• Promote a safety-first culture and support Continuous Improvement within the department.

Vacancy – Plater

We are looking to recruit a Plater in Surface Treatments for our client in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Hours: 39 Hours per week- Day Shift, typically 7:30am to 4pm (Mon – Thu), Friday 7:30am to 3pm. 30 mins daily unpaid break

Platers form a key component of the Stroud Manufacturing Team, completing surface treatments on Aerospace Components for all leading Aircraft Manufacturers and their supporting subcontractors.

Platers grade C/Ci will hold direct relevant experience of Pre-Treatment, Masking and Processing of components.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Preparation of components for surface treatment including but not limited to, masking, media blasting & waxing
• Process components following detailed process instructions / data sheets
• Record processing times and outcomes from surface treatment operations
• Supporting Continuous Improvement within the Surface Treatment department and the general business

Reporting Structure

• Process Operatives report to the Treatments Management
• Ability to follow Process Instructions
• Willing to train and learn new skills
• High attention to detail with strong quality awareness
• Minimum of 3 years direct and relevant experience in s Surface Treatment Environment
• Experience of an Aerospace Processing Environment
• Qualifications in Chemistry (GCSE and above)
