Job Title: ESS Business Partner - Portfolio & Operational Strategy

Location: Mostly remote with an occasional visit to Warwick or London offices

Duration: Until March 2026 with anticipations for extension

Day Rate: From 700 - Negotiable

We're looking for a Business Partner (Portfolio & Operational Strategy) to join our clients Engineering Support Services (ESS) team within the Global Finance function of our high-profile utility clients business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic thinker and planner who's passionate about driving transformation and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Shape Strategy: Support the design and execution of ESS's long-term goals in line with enterprise-wide strategy.
  • Drive Operational Success: Set performance targets, monitor progress, and ensure delivery excellence.
  • Manage the Portfolio: Plan and prioritise ESS projects and services based on strategic impact, resourcing, and timelines.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Work closely with leadership, business units, and partners to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Lead Governance: Implement best practices in portfolio oversight, risk management, and reporting.
  • Champion Improvement: Identify lessons from past performance and use insights to enhance future outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in strategy development, transformation, or consulting - ideally within a global or shared services context.
  • Workforce / resource management experience.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Great at working with diverse teams and influencing decision-making at all levels.
  • Familiarity with engineering services or utilities is a bonus.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic and operational initiatives across multiple projects.
