Job summary

Essex County Council's Adult Community Learning (ACL) invites applications for a Part Time Vocational Trainer - ESOL in Chelmsford. The role focuses on delivering high-quality ESOL teaching to adult learners, both in-person and online, to build confidence, language skills and employability.

You will support diverse learners, plan engaging lessons, utilize technology, and assess progress, while representing ACL as part of Essex County Council.

Qualifications

• An ESOL-specific qualification such as CELTA, DELTA, Level 5 TESOL, or a relevant degree.
• Experience delivering ESOL learning to adult learners.
• Experience of teaching, training, coaching, or supporting learners.
• Good digital and ICT skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment within ESOL programmes, both face-to-face and online.
• Motivate and inspire learners to achieve their goals and progress in their learning.
• Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups of adult learners within a safe and inclusive environment.
• Promote the benefits of technology and support learners to develop their digital confidence and skills.
• Use initial, diagnostic, and formative assessment methods to identify starting points, monitor progress, and provide constructive and timely feedback.
• Set challenging targets and learning objectives that support learner achievement and progression.
• Support learners to develop personal, social and employability skills that enable progression into further learning and employment.
• Maintain accurate learner attendance, progress and achievement records using ACL systems.
