Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking an Adult Learning Tutor to deliver ESOL across our centres in Beverley, Bridlington and Cottingham. The role involves teaching from pre-entry to improvers, including accredited ESOL, with the possibility of evening and daytime classes.

We seek applicants with Level 4 teaching qualifications and a recognised ESOL qualification, plus experience in ESOL across levels, safeguarding knowledge, and strong administration and digital skills.

Qualifications

• Level 4 teaching qualification and a recognised ESOL qualification are essential.
• Experience teaching ESOL across levels from pre-entry to improvers is required.
• Commitment to providing excellent learning opportunities for learners is essential.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity, Prevent and fundamental British values is expected.
• Good administrative skills to complete paperwork, drive assessment, learning, achievement and progress; good digital skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ESOL across Adult Learning centres (Beverley, Bridlington, Cottingham).
• Teach courses from pre-entry to improvers, including accredited ESOL; may include day and evening classes.
• Offer flexible scheduling to cover daytime and evening sessions.
• Contribute to quality and curriculum processes and learner progression.
