Job summary

Otis is seeking an Escalator Repair Engineer to service a portfolio of lifts and escalators in the Northwest, including Liverpool and Manchester. You will work on-site with key clients, applying electrical engineering skills to maintain safety and reliability.

You should have NVQ Level 3 in Escalator service/maintenance/repair, a current driver's license, and at least 24 months' elevator sector experience. A safety-first approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Escalator service, maintenance or repair.
• Hold a driver’s license and be within 1 hour of Liverpool.
• Minimum 24 months experience in the elevator sector.
• Good electrical engineering skills and a safety-first mindset.
• Able to communicate effectively on-site and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 100% of the elevator maintenance and service visits within your territory.
• Manage the portfolio of elevators across your defined geographic area.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and aim for first-time fix.
• Carry out minor repairs to keep operations running.
• Liaise with customers on-site to build strong working relationships.

You will ensure the safety of passengers by safely maintaining a portfolio of lifts and escalator units. On a typical day you will:

• Carry out 100% of the elevator maintenance and service visits of the units within your territory.
• Work within your defined geographical area / territory, managing the portfolio of elevators within it.
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix.
• Carry out minor repairs to achieve continual operation.
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.

What you will need to be successful

• Hold an NVQ level 3 in Escalator service, maintenance, or repair.
• Hold a driver’s license and within 1 hour commute of Liverpool
• You have at least 24 months of experience in the elevator sector.
• You have good skills in electricity and electrical engineering
• You are a committed professional, with safety as your priority
• You are comfortable communicating to others
• You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team
• You are comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
