Job summary

Stannah is seeking an experienced Escalator Engineer to maintain and repair escalators and moving walkways across London transport environments. The role follows a night shift of 19:00–07:00, with a 4-on/4-off pattern, often within Greater London and minimal travel beyond it.

You will work on diverse equipment including KONE, Schindler, Anlev, and Otis units, applying fault-finding expertise to keep passenger infrastructure safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on escalators and moving walkways.
• NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering.
• Valid UK driving licence (essential).

Job description

As an Escalator Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing escalators and moving walkways across some of the UK's most heavily used transport environments.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two nights are the same. You'll use your mechanical and electrical fault-finding expertise to keep critical passenger equipment operating safely and reliably.

You’ll work across a range of equipment including:

• KONE TM, RTV and RTK units
• Schindler 9300 escalators
• Anlev systems
• Otis 506 NCE equipment

Unlike many engineering roles, your work will be focused within Greater London, meaning you’ll enjoy exposure to major infrastructure projects without extensive regional travel.

Salary: Up to £85,000 (incl OTE) based on skills and experience level, and Paid Door to Door.

Location: Greater London (including Gatwick & Stansted rail stations)

Hours: 19:00 - 7:00, 4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts with 45-minute unpaid break)
