Job summary

The Housing Network in Luton is seeking an HR Advisory/Generalist to manage a caseload of ER matters and support managers across the organisation. This hybrid role requires commuting to Luton with three office days and standard hours, delivering compliant, fair employment practice.

You will draft letters and notices, advise on disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and capability cases, contribute to policy reviews, and help develop manager toolkits and guidance so managers can handle issues

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR Advisory or HR Generalist role.
• Solid knowledge of employment law and ability to advise confidently on common ER scenarios.
• Experience handling ER casework (discipline, grievance, sickness absence, capability).
• Ability to coach and advise managers who are not HR specialists.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage a large caseload independently.
• CIPD Level 5 or above (or working towards).

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of ER matters - including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, and capability - from initial query through to resolution.
• Draft and review letters, invite notices, outcome letters, and correspondence, ensuring they are accurate, fair, and legally sound.
• Take part in policy reviews, keeping them current, accessible, and consistently applied.
• Contribute to manager capability work - one-pagers, toolkits, and briefings that make it easier for managers to manage well.
• Be an active ambassador for fast, firm, fair - the approach THN uses to manage performance and conduct - supporting its consistent application across the organisation.
• Build partnering relationships with managers and team leaders across THN -being visible, accessible, and trusted.
