Job summary

Oakleaf Partnership is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a 3-6 month fixed-term contract based in Peterborough. This hands-on, operational role focuses on Employee Relations, handling complex ER cases end-to-end, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.

You will provide expert guidance to managers on ER matters, support travel to London and West Drayton as required, and work four days per week onsite in Peterborough, collaborating with the HR team to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a HR Advisor or similar role within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Employee Relations expertise with demonstrable experience managing complex cases independently.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, or developing junior HR colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of Employee Relations cases end-to-end, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, and workplace investigations.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on ER issues, ensuring consistency with policy and employment law.
• Lead and support complex and sensitive cases, including investigations and hearings.
• Ensure all ER cases are handled in a fair, timely, and legally compliant manner.
• Support line managers in building confidence and capability in handling people matters.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records, producing reports and insights where required.
• Identify trends in ER activity and provide recommendations to mitigate risk.
• Collaborate with wider HR teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality HR service.
