Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Production Support Engineer to focus on the equities desk in London. You will support PMs and senior traders while maintaining front-, middle-, and back-office systems, and deliver automation improvements across the trading platform.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in equities trading support, strong Python/SQL scripting, and experience in production environments with ITIL and agile practices. A hands-on role with global collaboration and process optimization.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience supporting an Equities investment/trading desk in banks, hedge funds, or asset managers
• Thorough understanding of Equity products (cash equities, futures, options)
• Experience in production ITIL environments and agile development
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities on internally developed systems
• Scripting experience in Python and/or PowerShell for support

Responsibilities

• Support Equities investment staff across Trading, Position, PnL, Risk, Reporting, Research and compliance systems
• Enhance and maintain Equity front-, middle-, and back-office platforms
• Collaborate with the global Production Engineering team
• Engage with PMs, Traders and Analysts to resolve issues and identify improvements
• Deliver automation and integration solutions using Python, PowerShell, and SQL
• Document support issues, trade flows and procedures on Confluence
• Apply AI-based approaches to improve operational efficiency
