The Opportunity

This position comes at an exciting time for our Hastings Branch, as CablePrice (a long-standing Hitachi construction equipment supplier) has been appointed as the New Zealand importer and distributor for Tigercat forestry and off-road industrial machinery. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Equipment Technician/Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated team. This role suits a mechanical trades professional committed to providing quality, efficient, and accurate service and maintenance outcomes, and who isn’t afraid to go above and beyond in this critical support role.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

• Strong Health and Safety commitment, as it is our top priority at CablePrice. We prioritize looking after ourselves and each other.
• Heavy Diesel and/or relevant Automotive Qualification.
• Prior experience with Tigercat equipment would be advantageous.
• Mechanical capability and technical skills, including diagnosing faults and servicing heavy commercial vehicles.
• Excellent diagnostic skills and analytical thinking to resolve complex issues encountered in daily operations.
• Confidence in computer literacy and a customer-focused mindset.
• A ‘can do’ attitude that persists when faced with challenges—our machines are tough, and so are our team members.
