EQUANS is looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Carlisle on a permanent basis for EQUANS Services Department. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 15:30, with an additional call-out rota. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
The Depot Maintenance Technician will maintain high standards in work order completion according to Planned Maintenance Schedules for Emergency Deployable equipment, including Generators, Lighting Towers, Fuel IBC/Trailers. Responsibilities include first-line maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, and participation in deployment configuration and post-deployment assessments. Support training activities and equipment movement as needed, and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and toolbox talks. An LGV Licence and experience with Fork Lift Trucks are preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Maintaining equipment as per schedules minimizes downtime, ensuring emergency response capability in the nuclear industry and reducing financial impacts.
Complexity:
Candidates should be logical thinkers, trustworthy, and able to remain calm under pressure, especially during emergencies. They should understand their limits in maintenance activities and faults.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
Experience with plant and diesel engines, mechanical or electrical aptitude, and relevant qualifications such as NVQ2, City & Guilds, or apprenticeships. A combination of on-the-job and manufacturer training will be provided. LGV Licence and Fork Lift Truck experience are desirable.
