Job summary

VanRath represents a reputable public sector organisation in Northern Ireland seeking an Equality and Safeguarding Manager to lead efforts in fostering fair, inclusive and safe communities.

Based in Belfast with regular travel across NI, you will drive the implementation of the Equality Scheme, Disability Action Plan and Inclusion Objectives, develop policies, monitor impact assessments and provide expert advice to leadership on equality, safeguarding and related policies.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Law, Public/Social Policy, or related fields.
• Demonstrate at least 3 years' experience managing equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in a large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of equality legislation, including Section 75 of the NI Act 1998.
• Skilled in conducting equality impact assessments, consultations, and policy development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the organisation's Equality Scheme, Disability Action Plan, and Inclusion Objectives.
• Develop policies and guidance to ensure compliance with equality legislation and promote inclusivity.
• Manage equality monitoring, impact assessments, and stakeholder consultations.
• Provide expert advice to management and staff on equality, safeguarding, and related policies.Design and deliver training programmes on equality and safeguarding matters.
• Support safeguarding services, including liaising with relevant organisations and reviewing policies.
• Coordinate outreach and awareness campaigns to promote diversity and inclusion.
• Contribute to strategic projects that enhance equality and safeguard service delivery.
