The EPRR Support Coordinator at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust will oversee the readiness and governance of EPRR assets, including SORT vehicles and mass casualty equipment, across multiple sites.
You will maintain equipment registers, support servicing, audits and training exercises, travel across the Trust, hold a C1 driving licence, and work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely deployment for incidents.
This role provides essential operational and logistical support to ensure the Trust maintains full compliance with NHS England's Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Core and Interoperable Capability Standards. Working closely with the EPRR Operations Managers, the post holder will take a lead role in the maintenance, readiness and governance of EPRR live and training equipment across the Trust, including SORT vehicles, Equipment Support Units and National Mass Casualty Vehicles. A key focus of the role is the effective management of equipment, assets and associated records, ensuring all items are serviced, audited, safely stored and immediately deployable for a wide range of incidents. The post holder will support the issuing and tracking of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), maintain robust equipment registers, and work proactively to identify servicing, replacement and replenishment needs. The role also contributes to the planning and delivery of EPRR training and exercises, such as Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) and SORT activities, providing logistical coordination and preparation. Working with minimal supervision, the post holder will deliver high quality administrative and operational support to the wider EPRR team, assist with projects as required, and ensure Trust policies and legal requirements, particularly around the storage and replacement of medicines on mass casualty vehicles, are consistently met.
As an EPRR Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational readiness of specialist emergency preparedness assets across the Trust. You will coordinate the maintenance, servicing and assurance of specialist vehicles, equipment, PPE and consumables, ensuring compliance with national standards and organisational requirements. The role involves managing asset records and equipment databases, supporting training exercises and operational deployments, coordinating logistics across multiple sites, and working closely with internal teams, external partners and suppliers. You will also support procurement activities, equipment audits, stores management and the production of compliance and readiness reports. This is a varied and practical role combining administrative, logistical and hands-on responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to travel across the Trust, hold a C1 driving licence, move and handle equipment safely, and work both independently and as part of a wider team to support the delivery of EPRR, SORT and Mass Casualty capabilities.
