Job summary

Weightmans Llp is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join our Healthcare team. The role is based in the UK and focuses on representing healthcare employers across the sector, handling a mixed caseload and providing strategic advice.

You will manage your own cases, defend tribunal claims, draft defences and witness statements, and contribute to business development activities while mentoring junior fee-earners.

Qualifications

• 6/7+ years' PQE in employment law.
• Strong technical knowledge of employment law and healthcare sector.
• Experience managing your own caseload for healthcare clients.
• Excellent communication and team-work skills.

Responsibilities

• Defend Employment Tribunal claims including drafting defences and bundles.
• Draft witness statements and merits reports.
• Advise on change projects and consultation requirements.
• Provide industrial relations advice and assist with business development.
• Draft articles and legal updates.
• Mentor junior fee-earners where appropriate.

full range of employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary matters, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination and detriment claims; Defending Employment Tribunal claims including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements and merits reports; Advising in relation to change projects, changing terms and conditions and consultation requirements; Industrial relations advice; Assisting other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate; Drafting articles and legal updates; Assisting with business development initiatives including training and networking; Working in accordance with client and internal SLAs; Working in accordance with Weightmans' values and procedures; and Contributing to set team financial and utilisation targets.This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will have other duties and responsibilities that fall within the remit of the role.

About YouYou will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work.
