Job summary

Norwich City Services Limited is seeking an EPA Driver to join our environmental and street-cleansing team in Norwich. You will respond to street cleansing requests, collect various types of fly-tipped waste and remove hazardous materials such as needles, dead animals and dog fouling, working 37 hours per week.

The role uses a tablet for logging job status, requires a full driving licence, and offers a supportive environment with paid leave and development opportunities; part-time or job-share

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for EPA Driver to join our team. If you are reliable, hardworking and take pride in delivering a high-quality service to customers and the wider community, we would love to hear from you.

This role delivers a responsive, high-quality street cleansing and environmental service across the city. You will respond to street cleansing requests, predominantly involving the collection of various types of fly-tipped waste, as well as the removal of hazardous waste such as needles, dead animals and dog fouling.

You will proactively pick up fly tipping and other street debris, visit locations identified through the internal Open Task job request system, prioritise calls and meet service response timescales.

You will use a tablet to log and record job status updates, complete relevant paperwork and reporting processes, and carry out daily checks on vehicles and equipment. Pre-use checks on 3.5 tonne vehicles must be completed and recorded on the digital VRC App.

Working as part of a team, you will support effective handovers, maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues, and promote equality, customer care and safe working practices.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a physical role, understand written and verbal instructions, work effectively as part of a team and be willing to work in all weathers. A full driving licence is essential.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
