Job description

New Directions is seeking a qualified mathematics and English teacher capable of providing 1-1 tuition up to GCSE level, with experience in pastoral care within education. The successful candidate will join the Engagement, Wellbeing and Attainment team, working with pupils in Cardiff who are based at home or in Learning Centres and are not regular school attendees.

Role Details

1. This is a hybrid role, primarily supportive, with some teaching and guidance responsibilities when necessary.
2. The position is initially 3 days per week, with potential to increase in hours or days. Full-time roles with supply work in schools are also available on free days.
3. Support is focused on EOTAS pupils, who are not attending mainstream education.

Candidate Requirements

• PGCE or PCET qualified.
• Ability to teach Maths and English up to GCSE level.
• Experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs, including Autism and emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties.
• Access to transportation for traveling to pupils' homes and learning centres.
