Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford seeks a Scientist in Enzymology to join the Yield and Photosynthesis programme. The role focuses on developing high-throughput enzyme assays to study plant protein variants, in collaboration with the EIT AI and Robotics Institute.

You will establish robust, scalable workflows for protein expression, purification and biochemical characterisation, while helping to build automated laboratory pipelines that accelerate protein engineering for crop improvement

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry or molecular biology.
• Proven experience with enzyme assays and protein characterisation.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise high-throughput enzyme assays.
• Establish scalable workflows for protein expression and purification.
• Develop automated lab pipelines to accelerate screening.
• Collaborate with AI/Robotics groups to integrate workflows.
