Job summary

The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) seeks a Scientist in Enzymology to join the Yield and Photosynthesis programme at Oxford, United Kingdom. Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, enzymology, protein engineering or related field.
• Experience designing and optimizing high-throughput enzyme assays for proteins.
• Understanding of enzyme kinetics and assay development.
• Experience in recombinant protein expression and purification.
• Ability to design robust experiments and automate workflows.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and data analysis.
• Strong collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise high-throughput enzyme assays for protein variants.
• Establish scalable workflows for protein expression, purification and biochemical characterisation.
• Develop automated lab pipelines with plate-based readouts for HTS.
• Collaborate with computational scientists to translate in silico design to experiments.
• Contribute to publications and IP generation.
• Work with automation engineers to design automated workflows.
• Present findings at seminars and external meetings.
• Investigate opportunities for IP and commercial translation.
